50 years of KEB Italia
Greeting message from Thomas Brinkmann, CEO
50 years of KEB Italia: that means five decades of partnership, innovation and growth. KEB Italia has always been a central part of the KEB Group. On the one hand, this is because Italian mechanical and plant manufacturing is an important market in which our automation and drive solutions are highly regarded. Secondly, KEB Italia is the first subsidiary that Karl-Ernst Brinkmann ever founded. In 1975 – just three years after KEB was founded in Barntrup – the starting shot was fired for the company near Milan. This made it clear that there were exciting opportunities and potential to be exploited in Italy. And this is still true today.
Just like at the headquarters in Germany, electromagnetic brakes and clutches laid the foundation for KEB in Italy. From 1982, the range was expanded to include sales and service in the field of drive systems and inverters. Gear units, motors and control technology were also added. Most recently, NOA was created as an open automation platform that serves the increasingly important Industrial Internet of Things. Within the KEB Group, the Italian team is an important driver in this area and works closely with our software competence center in Germany. As a result, KEB Italia can offer its customers complete system solutions from a single source – powerful, cost-efficient and always close to the needs of the user.
The best products and solutions are nothing without the people who stand behind them with their commitment. More than 20 employees now work at the Milan site. They all contribute their individual strengths and skills and ensure optimum advice and support on site. In this way, KEB Italia has earned its status as a valued partner in various segments. Whether in the plastics industry, recycling, woodworking or logistics – wherever high-quality drives are required, our Italian colleagues will find the appropriate solution.
There are around 1,000 kilometers between Barntrup and the headquarters of KEB Italia. But despite this geographical distance, we have been united for decades by the same values, the same goals and the same ideas about how to implement system solutions as efficiently as possible together with our customers.
