C6 Safety PLC and Safety I/Os
Safety functions in innovative industrial systems will become increasingly important in future in order to ensure the highest safety standards for people and machines. This means that in new machine generations, the flexible programming of additional safety functions is increasingly being relied upon in order to survive on the future-oriented market.
The C6 Safety PLC as a safety controller and the C6 Safety I/O module handle all safety-related tasks at control level and can also be integrated into an existing EtherCAT structure. Communication is carried out via the existing EtherCAT bus with the certified Safety over EtherCAT (FSoE) safety protocol. Any FSoE slaves (for example Safety I/O modules, KEB’s drive controller with a safety module) can be operated via the Safety PLC (FSoE master).
The freely programmable Safety PLC and the Safety I/O module comply with the requirements of safety standards IEC 61508 SIL 3 and DIN EN ISO 13849-1 PLe. The safety PLC has a double-channel design and is programmed using the COMBIVIS studio 6 programming tools which include the certified functional safety modules. For the user, this means reduced development work and minimised testing and approval of the created safety application.
Highlights
- Freely programmable Safety PLC (IEC 61508 SIL3 and DIN EN ISO 13849-1 Ple)
- Certified safety function modules
- Substantial reduction in time spent on development, verification and approval of a safety application
- Programming by means of CODESYS Safety via the main controller and EtherCAT connection
