Function blocks
The standards developed in the field of motion control make it easier to programme controllers and integrate motion control into automation. Whereas in the past, separate software solutions had to be developed for each application, it is now possible to use standard application libraries. This provides a standardised method for programming motion controls, regardless of the specific manufacturer or hardware used. This ensures the interoperability of motion control systems from different manufacturers.
To further simplify motion control tasks, KEB has developed its own function blocks using standards. The function blocks are customised to the specific requirements of motion control and enable customers to implement motion control tasks with reduced programming effort. It also simplifies the implementation of motion profiles and enables systems to be commissioned more quickly. By using the modules, this complexity can be minimised many times over, especially for complex motion control tasks.
The KEB_SMC_Utility includes simple function block for the implementation of axis movement jobs. The axis control FB’s get linked to the drive hardware and allows access to all single or multi axis functions.
