Do you need to realise demanding requirements? Then the high-end solution for CNC automation from KEB is the right choice. The CNC core from ISG is integrated with various features for CNC, robotics and motion control. This is characterised by a good path and speed planning as well as the architecture model on which the software is based. This allows users to make individual customisations and add extensions. Systems with up to 64 axes are possible for the realisation of a CNC application and the number of axes or channels can be increased depending on requirements. Extensive function packages are available for this purpose. Users can access a database with various transformations. The interpolation is linear, helical or spline interpolation. The aim is to achieve excitation-free and smooth motion control. The CNC solution from KEB also supports the option of volumetric compensation in accordance with ISO 230. The system achieves its high precision through various compensation options for mechanical and thermal influences.

PLC and CNC combined

In order to be able to individually automate machines with CNC functionality, a high degree of freedom in the application design is often required. With a system developed by KEB, it is possible to bring together the worlds of CNC and PLC. Specifically, CNC in the KEB system is an integrated component in the available PLC controls. This means that the processes between CNC and PLC are more synchronised than before - with noticeable positive effects on efficiency within the application. CNC integrated into the machine control means that users are provided with all the tools for customised automation solutions bundled in one tool from KEB. The CNC application is automated in KEB's familiar IEC 61131-3 development environment and thus builds on the customer's existing expertise. In no time at all, the machine and CNC control become a powerful unit.

Open tools

KEB enables CNC machine manufacturers to automate their solutions with open tools based on standards such as IEC 61131 – without restricting the CNC functionalities. This allows customised solutions to be created as required. The system is set up in a flexible and user-friendly way using the COMBIVIS studio 6 automation tool. The object-oriented design of the programme makes it particularly easy for users to configure axes and channels precisely.

High-End-Solution

For the realisation of high-end applications, the CNC kernel was implemented on real-time capable IPC controllers. The flexible and scalable system solution, consisting of control, visualisation, safety technology, drives and motors, enables a wide variety of CNC applications. The range of functions offers solutions for machine tools and the movement of complex kinematics. The basic package of the high-end solution has basic CNC features. These include, among others:

• Speed and acceleration pre-control, jerk limitation
• Powerful, clock-synchronised CNC-PLC interface
• Coupling functions, gantry axis functions, measuring functions
• Look-ahead function

Building on this, extensive function packages are available for the implementation of various applications. The packages can be selected as required and the software can be expanded to include the necessary functions.
